Hello to all! I hope this finds everyone doing well. First, my prayers go out to those involved in all the terrible storms over the weekend. My little brother is going to school in Mississippi, and was out delivering pizzas when the family he was bringing them to grabbed him into their basement as the tornado passed over. They were hit with two tornadoes, and the north side of town is out of power. I know just from talking to him what a frustrating time this will be for all involved.
**UPDATE: Aiken's appt Friday......
was cancelled!! UGH! Can you believe it?!? The principal of the school where he was receiving services has to be there, and she was out of town or something. So it's back for this coming Friday. The therapist had the gall to call again at 7:30 in the morning! Now with Adam's work schedule (he's a merchandise manager at a major retail store) and my class schedule, on Fridays, we are very rarely up by then, not to mention if we are, trying to get life together to leave for the day. So I found this "slightly" annoying, to say the least. Also, she had the guts to ask if he would be in therapy that day, since we hadn't officially cancelled his services yet. I told her no, we had already scheduled his private therapy, and we had no interest in continuing the services under the district...feeling at this point like a broken record. But I think she finally got it, as she said that some kids need more than the district can provide, and she hoped Aiken would be okay...or something lame like that. Just as long as it's over with!
On the "me" subject...I only have 15 days of class left! I am sooooo pumped about this...I know it's probably not a big deal for ya'll, but it's been such a big struggle, both for me and for my wonderful family. I can't tell you how many times "fun" plans have been put on hold so I could finish a project, do some research, pick something up for a presentation...etc. It will be a big relief for us all.
I'm going to quit now, while I'm ahead :) but hope to hear some more from you "all" on my ttm board....this week's question is:
What has been your child's biggest accomplishment so far? Even with the delays/diagnosises, or whatever, what has been your child's shining moment in their life up to now?
I look forward to hearing all of you brag on what your little angels are doing that amazes you!!
Love,
Amanda & Aiken :)
