Amanda's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

November 29, 2002

Good afternoon all! I hope this finds everyone with full tummies, good friends and family around them, and just some time to rest. I have so many things to be thankful for this year, so I thought I'd list a few...

1. My husband...he is exactly the man I need! He is amazing to me, able to put himself aside for Aiken or I the instant we need him. He works so very hard, at everything, and I am constantly amazed that he chose me to share his life and his love with.

2. My son...he is such a miracle to me! Aiken does so many things now that someone along the way told us he shouldn't, wouldn't, or couldn't, that I just am amazed to be blunt. He is such a treasure, and the joy of our lives. I can't imagine my life without his.

3. Our house...well it's not our house, we're renting my grandfather's while we wait to save up a little more $$ to buy our own. But this house is huge! Our current bedroom is bigger than our previous living room/dining area combined. I have my own closet, which is bigger than the one Adam and I shared previously. I'm currently waiting on the whirlpool bathtub to finish filling with water... ;)

4. Our jobs...They are both blessings from God. I started as a student assistant in this library, and then 3 months later, was promoted to a part-time, salaried, benefits position that I hold today. It doesn't pay a whole lot, but it definitely helps. Adam started out as a Christmas temp worker, and he is currently a merchandise manager in the kids/baby (now how about God's sense of humor?!?) dept of a very large national 3-tiered company. He just got promoted this past July...just as I would be graduating and we would be looking to buy a house.

5. Our friends/family...We are so blessed, as much as I whine/gripe/complain with our family and friends. While we did lose a few fair-weather friends when we found out Aiken was coming, we have made so many more on this journey. We have been blessed with so many excellent therapists and teachers and helpers as well

I could go on and on and on, as I’m sure most of us could, but there are several large projects calling my name. This is my last week of class, EVER!! (Another big thanks!) Everything is due by Friday or Saturday, so if I can make it til then I’m done. Hurray!
On the baby end of things, I have asked for a pregnancy diary…we’ll see how long it takes to get that up. I’ve noticed (along with several other diary writers at the various sites) that nothing web-wise seems to be happening lately. Hopefully that will change.

Everyone have a great week!!

Love,
Amanda :p
