MORE BLOOD TEST RESULTS
Dr.Corbier's nurse called me again about Jaida's high-resolution chromosome screening. Apparently, she has a "mild abnormality" as the nurse put it. It's not life threatening but Dr. Corbier wants me to come in and sit down with him so he can go over the results and what they mean. We are seeing him tomorrow morning at the CRS clinic but I guess there won't be enough time to discuss it then.
Ever since I got that call, I have been a little on edge. What does this mean? Should I have Jarod tested too? I suppose I will get the answers to those questions when I see Dr. Corbier next week. The wait may be more than I can take.
JAIDA'S SPLIT PERSONALITY & OTHER THINGS
Since we started the MT3, Jaida has been in rare form. I expected this as she always regresses a little when we do something new with her diet or supplements. I only hope it passes by the end of the week. Last night for example, she was sweet and loving one minute and screaming "tee-tee butt" at the top of her lungs the next. I have chosen to ignore her outbursts and not add fuel to the fire but it's hard. She knows we don't like for her to say the word 'butt' and she deliberately does it to get a reaction out of me.
I keep forgetting to mention that Jaida has lost four teeth already. The first two (bottom front) had to be pulled because they were coming in behind her baby teeth and the baby teeth had no plans to vacate the premises. A month or so later, the left one next the bottom two came out. Last week, the right one next to the bottom two came out. So now she is officially a snaggle-puss.
Another thing I want to get Dr. Corbier's opinion on tomorrow is Jaida's appetite. She is getting worse with her pickiness and a teacher at the school mentioned that she won't eat her snacks. I take special snacks for her but she refuses those too. This has been going on for about two weeks now. I thanked her teacher for telling me but I explained that Jaida is very picky and her appetite is sporadic. I just wanted to make sure they don't call DHR thinking I'm starving her.
JAROD IS TURNING INTO A BIG BOY
Jarod is still loving school. I think I may need to start dropping him off at early bird time. I have been bringing him to work with me but that is going to have to stop, soon. By the time we get to school, he's sleepy and clingy. The last two weeks, he has tried to reach for me and he gets ready to cry when I walk away. Dana loves him though and she will swoop him away and say, "Let's play, Jarod!" I actually saw her nuzzle his cheek yesterday and I was touched by her affection for him. Everybody there loves him to death.
I keep forgetting to mention that Jarod has been sleeping in his big-boy bed for nearly a month now. It all started with Steve putting him in it for naps on the weekends. After a few weeks of that, he put him in it at night too. I let Steve handle Jarod's bedtime routine because he only associates me with fun and games. He used to nurse to sleep and since he doesn't anymore we had to come up with a solution for getting him to actually go to sleep. If I tried, he would make me do the piggy song a hundred times. You know, "this little piggy", except I sing it and he thinks it's hilarious. After his bath, he starts begging for "pig-pig" immediately.
I have yet to get him a safety rail and I plan on doing that Saturday. He has fallen out once, but he landed on a shammed pillow instead of the floor. When I went into his room and saw him on the floor, I said, "What are you doing down there?" He just looked at me sleepily and said, "Fall." I couldn't help but laugh.
UPDATE ON MY FIL
They released my FIL Tuesday afternoon. Apparently, they couldn't find anything wrong with him. I'm not buying it but what can I do? He seems to be fine and he hasn't had an episode like that since, so who knows?
THE BABY BEAT DOPPLER & OTHER RAMBLINGS
I have not been able to hear a thing (except my own pulse) with the BabyBeat. I guess it will be another week or two. I knew it was a long shot since I have a lot of extra padding, to put it politely. A good friend of mine calls it fluff, LOL. Anyway, I know Lambchop is growing because my round ligament pain has begun. An overly full bladder is actually painful lately if I don't do something about it right away. Also, I have to be careful how I get into the van because I can feel something pulling if I go too fast. Note to Mazda: Running boards would be nice on the '04 model! That is my only complaint with my lovely new van.
I also got my Hypnobabies home study course. I have had great results with it so far. This is the same course that Crystal on BT used to have her son Michael. I am only able to listen to the tapes after the kids are in bed, and I'm nearly ready to drop myself. That means, I tend to fall asleep during the tapes. The first night, I was so sleepy I literally ran to my room to get to bed. I slept like a brick. I was relaxed, that's for sure. I'm only two weeks in but I can tell I won't have any trouble with self-hypnosis.
Well, this certainly turned into a long update. I have some work I should be doing but I can't concentrate. I feel the veggie brain starting and I'm not officially in the second trimester yet. As I told Megan on my TTM board, I can't handle anything more mentally challenging than a takeout menu these days.
Ciao!
Kim & Lambchop
