Good reports from school (16th)
I wanted to mention how proud we were of Jt last week when his teacher called me from school. Usually, when I see the school phone number on he caller Id I cringe. Is that bad? I always fear of hearing the worst about J.t? Anyhow, I answered the phone with a lump in my throat. Right away Mrs *B* said “This is a good phone call!” I immediately felt relief and could feel the smile come to my face. Mrs*B* proceeded to tell me how GREAT J.t has been doing since the medication increase. She said that he has been doing wonderful in solving problems in stressful circumstances and has had a much better hold over his emotions. She also mentioned that she is amazed with his memory. ( we have always notice Jt has an amazing memory. He can remember things from a vacation we took when he was three years old. ) She said and I quote” I have no doubt that one day Jt will be either a famous sports announcer, or be a professional in baseball or football.” We talked for about 15 minutes about Jt’s achievements and I had tears in my eyes after I got off the phone and went to give Jt a huge hug. I told Joe what the teacher had said and he was just as proud as I was.
Stealing from Church?
Okay, so now that I have wrote my positive thing for this entry I will come at you with the negative. We are on a search to find a new church home close to where we are building our new home. On the 18th we went to visit the church my in-laws belong to. The kids absolutely loved the Children’s programs they were involved in , and we loved the worship service we attended. Because this was his first visit, Jt was given a very nice bag full of treats. He was very excited about this bag of goodies and guarded it all week. Lol
After talking it over with the family we decided to go back this past Sunday. As we were on the way to church the kids chatted about what they had learned the previous week and seemed really excited to be going back. After Joe had picked Jt and Autumn up and met Alec and I by the coats I noticed Jt had another bag with a ballon. When we got to the van I noticed the bag was the same as he had from last week. When I questioned it, Joe had said Jt said he got for some Birthday game. I didn’t buy it. Jt’s Birthday is in April. I pressed the issue a little more and he just refused to talk to us. I took the bag away and went through it. I noticed there was a little slip of paper thanking him for visiting. We had to get going and did not have time to go back into the church so I continued to question Jt about why he had lied to the people of the church and to us? He could not come up with an answer and started to whine. We told him that it was completely unacceptable and that we were going to go back next Sunday and he was going to return the bag to his teacher. He then started mumbling about how he did not like the church yada yada yada. We are really struggling with this lying issue with him and it is driving me crazy. He lies about SO many things, and I really worry about him. I feel guilty that we did not go back in right then and there and feel that we should have. Lesson learned I guess.
*Time Apart*
I am very lucky that my parents play such an active role in our children’s lives! Their lives revolve around their grandchildren. Today, my parents are picking Jt up from school and then taking him sledding on the hill I used to go to as a child. Then Jt is going back to their house to spend the night. It is great that we live so close to one another so that the kids can spend the night and then my mom just takes them to school in the morning. It will be nice for me to have a low-key evening with Autumn, Alec and Joe. It will also be good for Jt to have some space from his younger siblings for a night. I can tell the close quarters of this rental home is really starting to get to Jt and just wants to alone at times.
