Expert Q&A

By Mindy Hudon
Speech and Language Pathologist

My child has cerebral palsy. An educator recently recommended that we see a speech language pathologist. What good will this do, since my daughter already speaks well?

It is difficult for me to answer this question because I am unsure what the educator's concern is regarding your daughter. I would recommend discussing this with the educator so that she can better describe her concerns and why she referred your daughter to a speech language pathologist. Also, you could contact the speech language pathologist and ask her/him about the evaluation process.
